My Canine Story
About Me
Hey! I am Chris Yang, owner and trainer of Canine Chris Dog Training. I operate in the Minneapolis area in Minnesota. I enjoy helping dogs become better versions of themselves and seeing them live peacefully with their owners. I work with dogs that are insecure, leash pulling, resource guarding, jumping on people, reactive to dogs/humans, ignores recall, or counter surfing. I can also provide guidance to owners who just got their first puppy.
My Canine Story
My passion in dog training started when my wife and I got our first puppy, Beau, an American Staffordshire Terrier.
Beau was 12 weeks old when he came home with us and what a joy he was! Going into this, I knew I wanted to be a responsible dog owner. We would go out for walks 2-3 times a day and participate in dog training classes. After months of trying to work with Beau, I still struggled with some at-home behaviors and dog reactivity during our walks. I thought…why wasn’t Beau a “normal” dog? I met all his needs, and he knows how to sit, down and stay. What was missing? I quickly learned that owning a puppy was more than potty training, feeding it, letting it run in the backyard and snuggling with them.
After lots of research, seeking out help and shadowing a few highly-qualified dog trainers in my area, I have now fully trained Beau on the e-collar and in our first week of utilizing it, I have seen it work wonders with him. He is not perfect, but with boundaries and structures, we can live peacefully and I can give him the freedom he deserves. After training Beau, I wanted to help others who were just as frustrated as I once was.
